Are you sure that voltmeter was capable of measuring 20000+ volts - thats the kind of voltage that runs thru the spark plug. The traditional way to check for spark is to take the spark plug out - connect it to the plug wire - touch the outer metal part of the spark plug to the valve cover or manifold - have some once else crank the engine - look for a bright spark in the spark plug. The spark is much more visible if you do this in a dark area or at night. If you do this wrong you might get a strong electrical shock.

It could be the distributor cap, if it's broken. Have you attempted to read codes?

Even if the camshaft position sensor is faulty, the engine will still run, so it shouldn't be that.

Are all ground straps properly installed between the engine block and the frame?

i don't think it is your cap...it's hard to believe that all 4 points on it went bad at the same time.

how did you check your coil? is your coil getting power?

do a spark test - then you can either single out or eliminate ignition as the source of your problem.

Using a voltmeter does not count and is pretty much useless - unless it can measure more than 20000 volts at high frequency ranges and milli-second pulse widths.

Have you checked all the fuses both under the hood and in the cabin(driver side - close to the knee)? If those check out - then try another distributor. Also do you have any alarm/security system installed in your car? Try doing the diagnostic routine to see if there are any codes in the ecu (http://eunos30x.com/info/CEL Codes 4 Cyl Complete.pdf).

alarm wires use a relay for a kill switch, maybe you removed some but not all? or when you put it back together soemthing fell apart.
