So after reading the info on this site, I can't tell if you need a laptop to setup all the info or would there controller so that? Since I don't have a laptop and can't afford one the controller would be my best bet.

i see today they now have a US
based supplier

http://www.link-electro-usa.com/contact.html

Right the hand control is used to setup the interceptor!

Most if not all tunning shop's in NZ have acess or own one
if you where are really smart cookie and brought everything
you could then for a modest fee loan out your controller
there fore recouping the cost in the long run.

 hmm, methinks my humour was lost in translation!

i don't know much (anything) about the pc-link, nor cables involved, i haven't even been on their website of late, all i know is the tuning module/intercept/gauge combo works fine, and is easy....

chat to the guys at Link, either the US or NZ sites, it's what they do everyday 'n being a smaller company, they DO give a toss...... :D

Well i had a good giggle over the extension cord, personally would
have put a 12-240 converter in the car just for those occasions
when you need a decent beerfridge on hand...

 get yourself some bling 20's from magwhorehouse 'n they'll give you a fridge! (hmmm, methinks a Honda with 20's, sub and fridge is gonna struggle to get forward momentum!)

actually reminds me of a story..., me and my girlfriend we stopped by the side of the road (having a bit of a picnic), she was quite a pretty girl (yes this is a true story! :D )...., and along cruises this CRX, sub pumping, probably doing 25-30k, coupla minutes later he blasts back the other way, sub not pumping! another coupla mins, cruises past, sub cranked up, then blasts back the other way, no sounds! i'm sure he thought he was pretty cool, but i had a bit of a laugh! (i wonder if he had to slow down to use the windshield wipers too??!)
