ok guys i'm confused

Post by Hoodzy »

I just measured the wheel gaps on my as far as i know stock 95 GS.
The car is straight as in completely level looking, but the gaps in the wheel wells are 2.5' on the front and 2' on the rear.

In pics i've seen for example the 1.75' intrax drop the car is level and the wheel well gaps look very even.

But then when i see pics of eibachs 1.3' front drop and 1' drop in rear the front gap is much smaller in the front and the car is not level.

I just want a 1.5-1.6 drop that has my car level and the gaps between the wheel wells even also

Regardless of the amount advertised as per the type of suspension used , you also have to consider what size wheels and tires were also used. All of these things play a factor wrt distance to fender from tire. Were oem size wheel and tires used or was a 16", 17" or 18" wheel used? What were the size of tires used on those rims, oem diameter, over sized, under sized? Like I said, lots of variables that can account for the appearance in the differences in tire/fender distances.

well i thought the majority of people are gonna go with the same overall tire diameter of stock no matter what ur rim size
the bigger the rim size the smaller the tire to allow for same overall diameter??

It seems that you're splitting hairs on a possible .15" difference between your desired 1.5" to 1.6" compaired and 1.75" on the Intrax. Is it that critical to you. As long as it's lowered, doesn't rub under any normal load and is quality (not used) struts, springs and camber adjusters and gives excellent handling and response, what more could you ask for. The mere appearance that one end looks higher or lower than the other may be just that - appearance. Is that the catalyst here ... appearance?

It would make a difference based on the weight in your back end also. So, whether you had a sub box or a full tank of gas that may have an effect on your wheel gap. I run Eibachs and cannot see a difference between front and rear wheel gap.
