blown fuses

Post by thando »

hey dudes and dudetes. new to the forum!!
my mx3 keeps blowing front wiper motor fuses. had it at an electrical diagnostic shop and they traced it to a wiper switch, not the multi switch on the control arm. it's under the dash and it's accessable. i want to fix this my self cause the part is $76 dollars and they are going to charge me another $70 to install it.
do any of you know where this wiper motor switch is located and what it looks like??
thanks a bunch
wish i had found this forum a long time ago. been driving my stock mx3 for 8 years and it's been a fantastic car!!

I think I have a similar problem. My wipers will run at full speed even when switched off. I have to pull the fuse out to turn them off. Each time it rains, I have to put it back in. It really sucks if it isnt raining hard, because I have to keep pulling it out and putting it in while I am driving.

That last sentence sounded kind of funny! I am not sure how to fix it, and I havent taken it to a shop yet.

Welcome thando!

Can you be more specific? I don't know of any other switch for the wipers (except the auto park switch which is in the wiper motor). I can't see how a switch would blow fuses either, they usually turn things on or off incorrectly is all...
