How do you replace tranny fluid on a manual V6?

Is the speedo cable wrapped in plastic? What does it look like?

I tried to fill from the check hole, but I can't get anything fluid to go sideway and slightly up through that hole.

The wires running to the spedo gear will have a protective wrapping. It is easy to find. From the Top side, look down right near your fuel filter. It sits right on the top of your transmission. It has one 10 mm bolt holding it in and once you remove it...just wiggle the gear a little bit while pulling straight up. It should come right out. I don't have a picture of the gear itself but this is where it is located on the tranny.
