Hey all, I just got back from Krank'd Car Audio getting my new alarm system put in.
Cost was $300 for the alarm (ASL-400TW) and install, plus $75 for the door actuator, and $25 for the hood switch.
The kit includes the box, siren, shock sensor, FM transmitter, FM LCD remote, regular remote. The box also in rigged with a starter kill.
Install time: 4.5h
DIY rating: 8 (damn hard for a noob, even with wiring diagrams. Lots of drilling and making new screw holes to mount things and hide wires)
Pros: FM transmitter, good cost, keyless entry, starter kill means if they do steal it ICBC will give you full amount. Has ability to do trunk pop as well as hood/trunk sensors, door sensors, shock sensor...
Cons: Does not come with an LED. If you want one you have to buy it yourself.
Note: This was on the GS with power locks (passenger unlocks and lock with drivers), on cars without them add another $75 for another actuator on the passenger door if you want to have it keyless as well.
Review of the install:
Chris and the guys at Krank'd treated me well as I hung out with them all day doing this install. They are very willing to talk to you, and will show you stuff on your car if you ask them to. They did a professional job and were willing to do custom work installing, not just bolt-on.
I added keyless entry and a hood pin for added security and ease of use.
I'd definately go back to Krank'd again. (and if I can afford the rims there I want, I will).
