Re: Low Rpm When I.....
I've noticed the same thing too when I roll up my power windows (the rpm's dropping). My car doesn't stall or anything, and it's done that for over a year and I've never really thought anything of it. My car starts fine and runs fine, so I think the battery is okay. I assume that it just takes a little more juice to get the windows up, so the alternator and the engine have to work a little harder, therefore the rpm's drop slightly.
Re: Low Rpm When I.....
well i had the same problem in a other car and it was cause the master cylinder had an internal vacuum leak.the car was a automatic and the vacuum hose that goes from the master cylinder to the carb.or throttle body on our type of car.

Ok Thanks..

Re: Low Rpm When I.....
I think that SK94GS is correct. I have a nice stereo system in our MX-3 and when it hits a hard bass note, the RPM's drop. I guess that it is actually one of 2 things. One....just what SK94GS said, that the alternator and engine have to pull harder because of the electrical strain. The other thing is was wondering about is is the electrical strain is actually taking power away from the CPU, and thus making the car drop RPM somehow. Not sure though.
Re: Low Rpm When I.....
Mine does all three, windows, brakes, and subs hitting. I thought it was just mine, but glad to hear it is normal. I guess just having 88 horses to power everything isn't the best thing. I told the clerk at Circuit City about the subs dropping the RPM's and he said he has never heard of such a thing. He said it must be a really small engine.
I was just trying to see if I needed a cap, but I guess since the lights don't dim then it is just a waste of money. Thanks for the post. At least I know I'm not alone.
Later,
Robert
BTW- It's kind of fun to see the rpm guage going with the music!
What can I say, I'm easily amused!

Re: Low Rpm When I.....
the fact that using the brake or the window switch and having the rpm to drop is pefectly normal. One proof, just turn on your a/c and you will notice that your rpms get higher to compensate for the increase in power the system requires.... you also have to realize that most of our cars are getting old, so the electric wiring is not state of the art... losing some elctric power too.
