Z3 Fenders

Post by Absath »

I did a search and all topics about these fenders were pretty old.

I'm really interested in having vented fenders on my MX-3. I ordered a pair from eBay, and they turned out to be total s---. The fiberglass quality is just laughable.

From people with first hand experience, what is the best route to go? I don't mind buying new fenders with the inserts already molded in. In fact, I prefer it, because when you do inserts, you're joining two different materials which can lead to problems down the road (only places I've found to buy the inserts is eBay, and I'm a bit wary... will probably end up with cheap fiberglass again).

Is there anyone out there that can point me to a reliable vendor for Z3 fenders (or inserts)? Has anyone ordered for psituning.ca ? are they quality? Are they a reliable vendor? Any help would be appreciated.

bad fitment or just plain lousy ? I was thinking of buying a set also
and was curious of the quality.

The fiberglass work is just terrible. It's really cheap. Not something I would put on my car.

I've got a set of z3 fiberglass inserts if anybody is interested. Bought them about 2 years ago and they have been sitting around every since. Just never got around to installing them. I paid an outrageous price for them too!!!!! If anybody is interested please email me at millerjaz443@suscom.net with an offer.

Heh, the place I'm going to be having install my body kit, do all the body work, and paint the car, also does custom fiberglass work. They took one look at these fenders and straight up told me that it was some of the worst fiberglass work they've ever seen. "Not worth ten dollars"

This shop specializes in custom car parts. He had rooms and rooms of fiberglass molds for all sorts of car parts they make right in the shop. I asked about just paying him to make me some high quality fenders, but he told me it wouldn't be cost effective because we'd only be producing one set, since the MX-3 market is non-existant (in new haven, CT anyway, where you can find any number of riced out fischer-price body kit hondas and acuras, but not much else).

So I didn't even get as far as fitment. He told me the fiberglass wasn't structurally sound (airbubbles or somesuch) and that it wouldnt be worth paying to reinforce.

I'd sell em off pretty cheap if someone wanted them. I think I'm going to order the G-Force Z3 Fenders from psituning.ca, unless anyone here advises me otherwise.

i did some on Eclipse for guy, I put lots of hours to make them look good, and still they werent the way Id like them to be. I wouldnt mess with them if you got cash to pay body shop to mess with them. Guy didnt pay me what it was worth so I just left it. His front bumper (fiberglass too) needed work but I never fixed it for him, he called me many times after but sorry I dont work for a--holes. Sorry for this little rant Im having here

Hehe I think I may skip Z3 fenders myself and get some NSX style side vents instead. I think it would be a more uncommon look.
