Steering wheel hub adaptor?

Post by projectmx »

I know the the grant one for the rx-7/miata won't fit our car according to the fitment guide but the momo one said the rx-7/miata one is the same as for the mx-3... what about the HKB sport : Boss Kit? anyone know if that one will work on our cars?

You also need to get a hub compatible with the steering wheel as well, they are not universal for aftermarket wheels. Find a wheel you want then find out which hub you need, and go from there.

If it doesn't say, it more likely won't

I did a cross-reference with a momo hub compatibility, the Mx-3 uses a difference part number than the Rx-7, so they don't use the same hub, no to say that they won't fix, the teeth would be the same, but one may be longer or shorter than the other...however, the 89-00 Miata momo hub is the same part number as the Mx-3, but the auction is for a 90-97, I don't know if there's a difference.

My guess is that it's a 40% change that it will fix.

Hey, I have no idea about the compatability here, but I just wanna throw it out there.

I've been helpin my boy work on his ZX2 for a couple weeks, cause he finally got some money to start some work on it. I have seen a thousand pieces of his car that look the same:
-His ebay short shifter is identical to my ebay short shifter, only his came with some bushings for the bottom...
-His dome light is the same as mine.
-His ignition switch is the same as mine.
-His turnsignal/headlight switch is the same as mine...

THEREFORE Possibly could the steering hub be the same as well?
It might be slow, but it's not a civic!

I just fitted my new r-speed steering wheel (momo millenium evo style/copy), I used a HKB boss kit, all works fine.
The writing on the box is all japanese, but it definately says RX-7 and AZ-3, I take you know what an AZ-3 is.

Sparco makes some steering wheel hubs for Mazda's but none listed for the MX-3 but i'll list the cars and part #'s incase you wanna email/phone sparco and see what they say,

Mazda MX-6 & 626 93+ = 01502044
Mazda Miata 90+ = 01502095

I coulda swore they made one for the RX-7 but i cant find the part# anywhere. You could always try emailing them and asking about these two hubs

it is 4545 but you have to also get the grant extension part... not sure what number that is or buy a grant/pilot steering wheel that comes with the extension part
