Rear Stabilizier bar.....
Hey all, I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get a good deal on a new Stabilizer Bar........the dealership wants $155......seems abit much to me.
Also, are there any other places in Canada to get good prices on OEM parts.
Thanks
Aaron

For about $170CAN you can get the SRD version. http://www.psituning.ca
Other than that I'd just keep an eye out at the junkyards and ebay.

Ok, seems you guys are talking about different things here. Stabilizer bar is referred to as a sway or anti-roll bar. The lower suspension tie bar is not a stabilizer bar, it's just a lower tie bar.
So, if going by the above, a 96 GS/RS actaully has a bit bigger roll bar than those of previous years. And RS is missing a tie bar in all years.
Too bad I threw out my stock roll bar....

Strange. My 95 factory shop manual lists same spec for my 95 RS AND the GS on this part --page TD-26.mazdubber wrote:They certainly are. RS's don't have one.jschrauwen wrote:Aren't the GS stabilizer bars beefier than the RS one's?
Rear Suspension Stabilizer:
Type: Torsion Bar
Diameter: 20.0mm (0.79")
Same specs (RS & GS) seem to match up for the front as well- 22mm diameter. Am I missing something obvious here regarding the rear spec? Maybe depends on model year? Any clarification appreciated.

As Taras said above, what most of these posts (including the one you referred to in your post) seem to be talking about is the rear lower tie-bar, not the anti-roll (stabilizer) bar. Your manual is correct in that both the GS and RS had the same anti-roll bars front and rear (22mm front/20mm rear).
PDM Racing is the only Canadian distributor of Whiteline suspension products (from Australia), whose 22mm rear bar might be a good option for you. However, they (PDM) seem to be primarily focused on Nissan tuning, so they may or may not be willing to order in the MX-3 bar. Not sure what the price would be like from PDM or shipped direct from Whiteline in Australia to Canada, but it might be worth checking out...
I know that Global Performance Parts, their distributor in the US, lists our rear bar (part #BMR57) for $132.91 US, so it's conceivable that it would be around $200 CDN for it up here.
