Removing Trunk Panels

Post by GMGQ »

What's the best/safest way to remove all the clips holding in the trunk panels -- WITHOUT breaking them??
I heard that I can just use this 'fork-like' tool to pry them out? LMK, thanks.

------------------
----
Gary Mui ( gary.mui@sinnovations2.com )
Sales Representative
Streamline Innovations 2
Vancouver, BC
604.312.9588
www.sinnovations2.com
mx3slimvisors.2ya.com

I tell you what...........u find out the answer to this.....let me know.
I've taken out all my rear parts, and put them back in using new clips I bought from the auto store. I broke almost every single one of them pulling everything out. They were like 20 for $5 or so....can't remember.
John
94 White RS

Ive always had to buy new ones, about 50 percent of the time. If you have worked on the fasteners for the bumper covers on Honda Accords, more than likely you always have to buy new clips. I use a small bladed flat blade to remove the clips. The blade is not more than 4-5 mm.

Yeah, I've broken a few before too :\ But where can I get clips that are compatible with the OEM ones that break? I've checked an auto parts store before, and I couldn't find anything that worked as well as the OEM clips. They're either too short, or too long, or the head doesn't sit flush with the panels...?
------------------
----
Gary Mui ( gary.mui@sinnovations2.com )
Sales Representative
Streamline Innovations 2
Vancouver, BC
604.312.9588
www.sinnovations2.com
mx3slimvisors.2ya.com

the best place is Mazda, but I have found acouple of places called Auto Fasteners that carry them. You may call around to Body Shops in your area and ask who supplys them with replace ment fasteners. They are like 70 apeice from Mazda.

$0.70 each clip from Mazda? Yeah, that's what I want to avoid... seems a bit much for those clips :\

quote:
Originally posted by Bbqman218:
the best place is Mazda, but I have found acouple of places called Auto Fasteners that carry them.
