JDM source in Calgary ?

Post by chertel »

Is jdm source in calgary a good reputable place to get a 2.5L KLZE. I have heard lots of bad stories about how hard it is to find a real klze or people having to send engines back because they were sent something other than a 2.5L klze. not from jdm source just in general. thanx!

Thx for your nice comments Dail, sorry about the wrong IM we sent you in the summer, the guy you talked to is more familiar with honda motors and I was out of town at the time to answer your questions.

chertel: if you're looking for a klze we have a few in stock right now for you, they are all straight necks at the moment but we will be expecting new shipment very soon. PM me your location and what expactly you need and i can give you quote with everything included (shipping, etc)

thx again

Hi

I was gonna get one from JDM source this summer but by the time they had one in it was time for me to go back to school. Seemed friendly and honest so hopefully this summer I will get one from them. I am scared of all the horror stories I heard of osaka otherwise I would have done the swap a long time a go.

Straight neck KLZE - Efini MS8, Mazda MX-6

Curve neck KLZE - Xedos9, Millenia, Eunos800

I got my MS8 KLZE from JDM Source. Great to deal with and now that I've completely taken the engine apart down to the pistons, I can tell that this engine has very few hours on it.

BTW, I don't suppose you guys got that KLZE ECU in (KL36 or KL31) that I was waiting for. Just let me know.

I bought a JDM Cultus GTi motor from Lucky Star in Toronto a year or so ago. Shipping was only $150 at that time, and the motor was cheap... It was an incredibly clean motor as well.

As for KLZE, I don't know the cost, but they do have them listed. They had better prices than anywhere around here. Although, ordering from out East instead of Calgary means that you take your chances as I doubt they would pay for shipping if it was a bum motor.

If you feel like giving them a phone call, this is their website.

Has anyone ever had bought from Cork sport and had them also install
their klze as well? Probably costly but everything would be tuned properly, programmed ecu ect. They charge $1700 american with pre-programmed ecu for the klze, I emailed them and asked how much to install as well.

You can use the 1.8 ECU but it won't run so great and not give you as much power or gas mileage. You would also have to pair that with a KLDE VAF sensor. I think the best combo would be KLZE ECU (KL36 or KL31) matched with Millenia, Xedos9, or Eunos800 curved neck Intake Manifold and 1.8L VAF Sensor (JE-50). You could try using a MX-6 or MS8 Straight neck intake manifold but it will take some modifications.

About getting corksport to do it, talk to Taras (JDM) on the forum. He had his installed there.

well, if we have a klze curve neck you can definity buy that to save you time on finding a different IM. As for ECU, those are extremely rare and I have yet to see one still... Sorry james, I guess we both have to wait on htat.

when jdm gets the curved neck klze in stock I plan on using the pre-programmed ecu that cork sport sells with it. That should work I hope.
