barry, i tried a dye, and it didn't turn out how i wanted it to. i used a brand named Rit, which is a concentrated dye. i also used black, but like i said, it didn't turn out as well as i hoped it would (i forget why i didn't like it, i think it had a dingy brown look to it). However, i might try it again, because maybe i diluted the concentrate too much.

FYI, i tried all this on my headliner from my parts car as an experiment, cause if i screwed up my good headliner (since my driving car has a sunroof and my parts car doesn't) i'd be, well, screwed

found fabric paint at wal-mart in a squeeze tube, so i might try that soon... actually i already have tried that on my parts cars headliner, and it turned out really nice looking, but the only drawback is the hard/crusty feeling the paint gives the headliner. but then again, how often do you feel the urge to rub your hands on your headliner... as soon as i complete the project i'll post pics in case anyone's interested in doin it themselves (as i think it's a dramatic interior style mod for only a few bucks)

well the good thing is that if i do do this project and end up hating it, i can just go the conventional way and cover it w/ fabric... and plus its's not like i lost an arm and a leg doin the experiment anyways
