The Mazda Dealer really screwed up this time......
So my CV joints are terrible, I go to the dealer and order 2 front CV joints for an Automatic 92 MX-3, 1.8L. (They asked me all this). Get them in a few days and everything looks to be ok. Me and my brother take out the old one which was a pain (if anyone has done this, you know what i'm talking about). Then we had the HARDEST time trying to get the new one in. We mess with it for a good 2 hours and figured something has to be wrong with the new one. We compare them and everything looks exactly the same. Then we checked the spine on the female end of the joint. On my old one, there are 24 spines, on the one Mazda gave me, there are 26! We were soo pissed! We ended up just fixing up my old one as best we could. So if you ever buy CV joints, make sure there are the right amount of spines.

It happens...<P>At my Mazda dealer back home, they just let me on the parts computer, so I can find the part number I need, and then I have them order it. Much better setup

I used to know alot about MX-3's, but not so much anymore. Oh well.

Yeah, well i'm sure he ordered the right part, I saw him enter it into the computer. The thing is, those CV joints were re-built with the whole axle, cause they were cheaper than a new boot by itself. So I dunno.......
