Here in Europe I believe it`s called Mazda 323 F, and its a very boring car...

There is a 2.5 V6 version of this in the UK which I'm hoping to get as my next car I think they are ok cars actually.

Nice looking car actually.
This is the car that originally made me fall in love with mazda's.
That shape is, well, sexy.
It has what i refer to as a "J-Lo" behind. Cute.

However, while searching eBay for examples of the 323f Lantis variants, I came across the rather rare (in the UK that is...) MX-3 Coupe.
And the more I looked, the more I got hooked on it.

Instead of the 323f (touted as a 4 door coupe by Mazda) I ended up purchasing a 1998 Reg MX-3 1.6i DOHC "Blackbird" with only 33,000 miles on the clock.

This seemed a better deal than the 323f Lantis with the 1.8i DOHC or the better (but more expensive to insure in the UK) ZXi V6.

Are the MX-3 and 323f mechanically related in some way?
