Re: Insane cop cars
If those are or were actually cop cars then I have only one thing to say: Isn't it wonderful how the government spends our tax money on such important matters while the rest of the world goes to hell in a hand basket?

Re: Insane cop cars
Vancouver and area has alot of similar cop cars. I've seen a 5.0 mustang, New Corvette, Subaru wrx, Done out honda civic, Viper (couple years ago though), Navigator, Multi brands of mini vans, and now North Van has a land rover(range rover) Tax dollars put to good use. why don't they just buy crown vics and use some money to clean the druggies and thieves off the street!!!!
Re: Insane cop cars
Usually they get those nice cars from seizures of drug dealers... At least thats how they did it back in CA. They had a Viper and a Shelby Cobra in San Jose. Other times they auction them off for PAL(police athletic league). My first car was a drug seizure, an '85 sentra(complete with overlooked crack pipe).
Ill see if i can get some pictures while im there this week.

Re: Insane cop cars
Yeah They get them from drug seizures. Then fix them up and use them as PR vehicles at auto shows and stuff or as interceptors on the interstates. Saw a spiffy State Patrol Camaro some years ago in Wisconsin and we had a couple of the 5.0L Mustangs too. I figure it might actually stop some of these idiots that try to out run the cops. I mean if that corvette wanted to pull someone over I think they might think twice before trying to out run him.

Re: Insane cop cars
Mitmaks, I agree with you completely. I am an isolationist in economic reguards. My post was not intended to say we should br the liberators, peace keepers, and all around heros of the world. Instead I see things just the opposite. Every troop should be pulled out of any foreign nation where there is a base. We then put them to work aiding costums and boarder control - keeping us safe at home not 10,000 miles away in some god forsaken desert.
This would not only increase the amount of productiveness and lower the cost boarder security, but free up trillions of wasted money we pay to have bases around the world. In turn this money would be used to aid health care costs and build shelters/training facilities for the homeless.
I could go on for pages about what could be done in this country raging from insurance, to imports/exports, unions, energy, and so on. However, I doubt any of you, or anyone else cares so I will keep my ideas to myself.
Sorry for the long and off topic post, but I have to vent on political matters every so often.

Have you ever thought of running for president? You have ideas that make ... ohhh ... whats that word.. Ohh you know the one... Sense! Yeah. It makes sense.
I never watch the news if it has anything to do with iraq. It is just like everything else that was a big deal for a while. O.J. , Clinton gettin nasty with a lady friend (WTF?!? The man has a personal life! Ohhh someone impeach him quick..), and Michael Jackson. It seems like it is just something they keep on repeat. It drives me crazy.
People going into iraq and trying to hunt down these phantom "weapons of mass destruction". Of course it is understandable that the threat was there and it is very good that they caught saddam dont get me wrong. It just seems like that the only reason that anyone is there now is to protect the precious black gold. I would think that they would be trying to find osama or something.
Baah! What the hell do I know anyway? I dont even watch the news. I am, however, a fan of michael moore..
Anyway, back to the cop topic, I suggest that everyone goes here and check out the clip. Its only a 5 meg mp3 but it is this guy on a call in radio show talking about how he gets out of speeding tickets driving his IROC!
Its halarious, kinda long but worth it.

Re: Insane cop cars
Here's a little more eye candy to add
<img src="http://www.racelegal.com/site/images/Ga ... 0028pc.jpg" alt=" - " />
<img src="http://www.racelegal.com/site/images/Ga ... 0005pc.jpg" alt=" - " />
<img src="http://www.racelegal.com/site/images/Ga ... G_5162.jpg" alt=" - " />
now on the lighter side is that these cop cars were not funded with government money they are actually sponsered.

Re: Insane cop cars
The BMW plant in Greenville, SC has donated some M3s to the P.D.s. And I know that VW donated some Jettas to the Blue Ridge Mnt. Dept. The BMW is badass and the Jettas are "rumored" to be able to keep up with the bikes in the mountains. However, I'd like to see that for myself.
As far as Camaros, we have too many...all of which are unmarked. They're all ****y state trooper a--holes. aka) Over-priced meter maids.
