Hm.. I have the exactly same car as you.
I've done a little over 100 mph and had quite a bit more to go, but it doesn't get there all that fast..
I also haven't tested this fully yet, just haven't felt like it.
Why don't you? :p

Mine does 130MPH+. Let off the gas as soon as I hit that speed, but still had some RPM left on the tach.

I've done a little over 105 Miles/hr (I think that is like around 180km/hr. I've got a 1992 RS, and had a huge straight away that had a slight down hill slope.

The 150 on the speedo is a bit over the top.. I don't know about the RS models, but my 92 GS in 5th gear I get about 20Mph per 1000 RPM..

With that gearing, no matter what other conditions (downhill, tailwind, 2.5L swap) I'd hit redline at around 140Mph..

I've had mine up around 110 once or twice just to see, but conditions (and speed limits) didn't allow me to go for more.. (was a little nervous as to what the ticket would look like if I was stopped.. and I have TERRIBLE cop luck.. if I do something stupid there's always a cop around to see it, or so it seems)

I've been just a little over 200km. Without lowering, or any tire modifications at all. Needless to say, it was one exhilerating ride. Our cars are not ment to be driven that fast for long periods of time! I was scared, since I could feel the car swaying and just barely staying connected to the road. I'm sure with the proper suspension and tires she would have been fine, but this was just stright up scarey! I suggest you all try it! :)

I have a RS and have reached the mechanical top speed of my car before. Some cars are more modified than others.

I also have a protege lx motor...

With my completely stock (except for rims) '92 RS Auto I hit 118 on a level highway. No lie. I had a friend follow me in his Contour SVT. My speedo said like 110, but my wheels set it off a little.

I had my GS Manual (also totally stock at the time) at 135 going uphill with still a grand left on the tach (I had that car adjusted for my wheels).

Really fun ride!!

of course, all that was on a track

Oh yeah, I have a stock ATX 92 RS too.
