Uneven Lowering Springs

Post by millionflame »

Ok, so I did half the ZX2 strut install today and added lowering springs.
Today I did the rear, tomorrow the front.
Anyways, my problem is this, when I finished the rears I glanced at each side and noticed that the passenger's side rear wheel well is about .75" higher (above the wheel) than the driver's side.
Could THAT spring just not be broken in yet, or would it have something to do with the new strut being stiffer than the other???
It's not the camber bolt since there is no way it could raise the assembly that high.
Thanks.

You must have forgot a part on one of the sides or somehow added an extra part on the other. Can't be the spring, especially if they are both brand new.

i'd wait for them to settle. Put about 1k miles on them before drawing a conculsion, but .75" seems like a massive difference!!
the zx2 struts lower the car .5" anyways, maybe the combination of them being so new, and your springs settling made the difference?

Nope it can't be. There was some sort of error with installation. Aiden, if i were you I'd take them off and redo it.

maybe you mixed up the front and rears together by accident. that seems to be the only explanation.

I didn't mix them up. I know that for sure.
I'll probably redo them today after I finish the fronts.
It just seems odd, that's all.
I'll post my results later when it's done and let you know what the screwed up part was.
Thanks so far.
~A

Well the end result of that rear spring was that it somehow managed to unseat itself from the upper seating area and it was sitting half in and half out.
Weird.
Nonetheless, I just installed it again and it's even with the other side.
All sides are within a few millimetres of each other, so now they just have to settle in.
~A
