When I start my car up it idles around 1500-2000 until the engine warms up. It eventually drops to the normal idle. can anyone on here tell me what they think the problem is!

Thats actually normal, your car's ecu is just adding plenty of fuel into your cold engine to make sure that it doesnt stall for the engine being soo cold. Then when engine temps reach normal operating temps, it begins to use less and less fuel and establishes a normal idle.

If you ever drive a stock car from the 50's or early 60's you will see a manual choke that you have to pull open when you start it, then close when the engine warms up. They got rid of these and made them automatic a long time ago...all your seeing is the auto choke.
