Removing the mazda logo on the hood ?

Post by jokke »

Is it screwed on, or just glued ?

Thanks

glued on, it has 2 plastic rods sticking out of the emblym that go into the hood, it will probably come off by sawing it off with dental floss.

I was thinking about removing the emblem off my hood and replacing it with the 'new' Mazda badge from the MX-5 (03/04 model year).
Jokke - I'd be interested to hear how hard it is to remove, and how much of a mess it makes.

I replaced my badge with the MX-5 one you mention. I looks great. I just basically prized off the old badge then had to use some cleaner and rubbing to get the leftover glue off. I then had to break the pins of the MX-5 badge as they were i a different place and didnt line up. However it fits over the old holes perfectly.

untill you filled and painted them, yep..

So if planning to de-badge the car, it's recommended to do it before painting, so you're not driving around with a bunch of holes where badges used to be.

I pulled my emblem off before I got my car painted. To cover the two holes, I put two tiny pieces of fiberglass behind them, let it harden, then just bondo'd over the top.

The hatch emblem on the P5 fits the hood of our cars the best just for a heads up.

Replaced the emblem last night. I used the one from a 2004 MX-5 (miata).
I had to remove the pins from the back, and I trimmed a sticky fixer to fit the back of the M part of the badge, so that it completely covered the holes left by the old badge.
I used acetone - my girlfriend's nail polish remover (shhh, don't tell her!) to clean off the mess left by the old emblem to give me a nice clean surface to stick to. The 2 emblems are almost exactly the same size, so it looks really good!

Can anyone please help this poor portuguese fool ?

I want to make a de-badge on the Mx-3... and to switch the Mazda Badge on the hood.
Does anyone know if the trunk badges, the Mazda , the Mx-3 and the V6 badge leave holes ? Or just glue ?
I really need a hand here
