cutting fender openings

Post by tommygunzit »

has anyone done this? Does it create any problems and how much can you cut them. Will it allow for larger diameter wheels? Peace
Drive it like it's stolen, cuz it's so funny watching the cops creep up on ya real slow if ya stop, lol.

you can install aftermarket flares and cut the metal fender out to accomodate larger wheels. We're doing a 3" flare on the MX3 I used for product development. It'll debut at Carlilse Compact Power Jam in Harrisburg PA in may of 04

ok...
your fender has about a 1.5 inch lip that goes into the fenderwell, this lip can be trimmed to allow for slightly wider tires/bigger drops...you have to be VERY carefull when trimming back the metal, I took out about a half inch of material on mine so that i could roll my 18x7's as low as i can go with my modded GC coilovers and modded tokiko shocks, so it can be done, just make sure you are carefull and take time, its better to cut too little than too much.

hope that helps.
