Need a list of trannies will work with both the K8 and K

So far I know the stock K8 Manual transmission will work with both engines. How about others?

Well...the tranny from the KLDE/ZE (MX-6), or from the milennia S (FE) AFAIR.

Pretty much K series trannys are interchangeable.

But only diff between the MX-3 and 6 trannies is that the MX-6's one has a slightly lower ratio for 5th gear (so lower RPMs are on the highway...slightly)

its a different final drive not 5th, all the gears will be spaced out a bit more and i hear that its only in the 626, not hte MX-6 or Probe

don't go by engine, go by the tranny series.

K-series all used g-series tranny's...so any car with a 5spd tranny w/a K-series engine will work.

the lsd one fits and works, but you have to source the axles too, or make custom ones

Here are the cars that came with manual trannies that will fit the KLZE, KLDE, KFZE, K8 & KJ engines

1993-1997 Ford Probe 2.5 V-6
1993-2002 Mazda 626 V-6
1995-1999 Mazda Millenia 2.5 V-6, The "S" 2.3 liter model only came with an auto
1993-1997 Mazda MX-6 2.5 V-6

Not sure wha they came in but the 2.0 KFZE tranny will work also.

The MX6 and 626 use the same tranny with the lower final drive ratio

Wait a minute... Someone told me the Ford Probe 2.5L tranny dosent work with a K8...

the probe tranny is actually completely identical to the mx3 tranny. the 626/mx6 ones have taller ratios

i heard that the guts from the 99 escorts will work with the g series tranny and are more reliable for higher hp k series motors.....
