Whinging shound and now power after a bit
Well, I was driving my girlfriend to work when I started to hear this wierd whining noise coming from the engine. I turned off the car and it smoked a bit. Then I brought it to my friends dad (who is a mechanic who told me the air conditioning didn't even turn over or start spinning. I think the smoke was coming from the belt, but is the whining coming from the alternator or air condtioning unit?
Could the bearings in the pulleys be shot?
Any info would be greatly appreciated!!

Sounds like the clutch has froze up in the a/c causing the belt to smoke. Better get it looked at i know my 92 gs the a/c and alt. are ran off the same belt.
