Time for major maintainence

I have a '93 GS V6 all stock with 165,000 km. This timing belt has 95,000 on it so its time for a change. This car is used to get me to work every day.

If I try and do the work myself, it could be painfully slow as I'm not that good with figuring out stuff. And I can't have the car disabled for ...

I bought my '93 Mx3 3 years ago and 6 months later drove it from Edmonton to Dawson City, Yukon and back again. Its about 3 easy days driving each way. I had no problems, except the Yukon mud sure sticks to the car.

Let me know if you find a solution. I have the same problem with my V6. If I let it sit overnight and pull the dipstick, then it seems to read OK. But if I wipe it and put in back in and out, I am never sure where the oil level is at.

Thanks for the tips on what to check for. From the replies, some of you are suspecting the engine is trying to cool itself down.

"Normal" operating temperature is about 3/4 of the way to hot. Is this too high? Also I have a bra on the front of the car. I will remove it and see if this makes a ...

Idle increases in a traffic jam

I have been stuck in a traffic jam 3 times now. Stop and creep, stop and creep. Each time has been for over 1/2 hour. After about 20 minutes, the idle started picking up. Twice it reached over 1500 RPM before the traffic started moving again. I though it was related to hot weather, but the last time ...
