Yah, I know it's not rocket science, the plugs themselves are very unique and easy to hook up in the right area and right place. I used the BP ecu, fuel rail, everything hooked up seemingly where it should be, and phblllttt. Rather than going through and tracing each of hte different wires by the ec...

I used the harness out of a 93 Protege LX. It was nice. lol, yeah... for you! It would be nice to hear from someone else who try to ran the EGT harness. Perhaps put in the FAQ - Don't put in or it will fry your ECU. Put the SOHC harness in, started up on second turn... no smoke show from the ecu an...

Me too. But alas if you don't know what's in a turbo, and understand the purpose of each piece... school won't help you. The free floating bearings are required to rotate along with the shaft (say 1/4-1/3 the speed). Harder for your bearings to do drenched in an oil bath. Also, there is a grooved co...

Ok, who is using the EGT harness? Everything pluged in where it should have, there are a lot of switched around wires and colors on the pins to the ecu that may include some grounds to switches and such that are not there on my sohc vs. the Escort. ECU also controls items inside the car, and there m...

Hrmmm... I dunno, mines 93 EGT... for the hassle of trying to figure out where all the different color codes are going and if one of them was the problem, I just put in the sohc harness. SOHC ecu started to get hot quick on EGT harness as soon as the key was turned, no hotness resistor frying with t...

I dunno.... looks like some differences in colors of wires, and addition/subtraction of some here and there, but I don't know for sure that things are not lining up. There was a nearly imperceivable nick on one of the wires by the ecu that it could have been resting against.. so what was your harnes...

what year/model was your harness from? Did you check the color code of the wires on the ECU end plugs? There is a cooked resistor in my ecu (resistors normally take a ton of heat) so I've got something out of place somewhere (perhaps grounded where it shouldn't be), or something is different with th...

mount turbos as they should be, horizontal. Thats basically the whole point behind this thread. To ask whether or not you have to mount a turbo horizontally...? And I gave the simplified answer. A shaft spinning at 60,000-100,000rpms (give or take) resting on floating bearings designed to work alon...

No it won't, it will not plug straight into the F series trans plugs.

Something is amiss though, I'll have to find out what.

I guess it's black with orange stripe looking at it today. It only has about 6-8" reach to anywhere on the right side of the fuel rail. The old one clip on the end of the wire had what looked to be an end from a sensor much like a coolant sensor but that spot is already taken on the thermostat ...

BP harness, who has actually used one?

Hrmmm, posted up some other thoughts in the list of gotchas, but this is about the harnesses. Who has actually used one that says 'swap it straight over'? There are a couple of plugs different. Fuel rail -match to bp minus one single black/orangestripe wire that I can't seem to find where it goes wi...

I agree on the mounts... I took all 4 and compared them. The EGT BP mount is little over an inch shorter. However the block is only 3/4" longer. Just using the BP passenger side mount allows enough room to drop in the other three, but it's still not perfect. To be perfect you should be using th...

EGT fuel rail harness...

Does anybody recall where the small black/red wire coming off the BP fuel injector harness from EGT goes? Is this one just going to a ground?

Only single wire on that injector harness I think and I can't recall what it was attached to before it was disconnected.
