you probably don't want to take on this task if you don't really know much. the skinny on what you need to do: unplug and unbolt everything connected to engine and tranny pull engine and tranny out separate tranny from engine resurface flywheel (machine shop) install clutch then put everything back ...

what year and engine do you have? it depends which sensor your mechanic replaced. there are 2 coolant sensors. one of them is for your temp. guage and the other is for your ECU. if your mechanic replaced the one for your guage, but not the one for the ECU then your car could still have problems like...

actually 5w30 is more viscous (flows more easily) than 10w30 when its cold, that's why they recommend it. you could probably even run 0w30 when its really cold, my dad used to and it worked really well. i think 0w30 is only available in full synthetic though.

well there really isn't anything that is gonna help. might as well just buy the cheapest oil you can find since it's just gonna burn it off anyway. at least then you are burning cheap oil instead of expensive stuff. sounds like it's rebuild or swap time. as for viscocity, just buy what it says in th...

yea i had 2 of them break off in my tranny too. if i turn it sideways it will slide right in and works fine...i'll probably just fabricate a little 2 pronged fork that wraps around the sensor and then have a screw go through the other end of the fork and into the threaded hole where you are supposed...

Protege LX road speed sending unit

for those of you running a protege LX tranny, what speed sensor are you using? does the mx-3 one work? i've currently got one from a 2nd generation V6 mx-6 with a manual tranny. it works but it doesn't fit quite right. it seems to be a bit too long or something. i have to rotate it to the side in or...

if i remember correctly UPS quoted me at $140 for shipping the bumper. i actually took the bumper to the store and asked them though. i think that included them packaging it for you. just a heads up.

i just thought i should add that everyone is talking about swapping a BP into a SOHC mx-3, NOT the DOHC. just in case someone with a DOHC is reading this thread and thought the wiring would be simple.
