Re: Lotek springs and struts?

Off brand/no-name. They're not going to have the performance or ride characteristics that Eibach would. So if your car's in good condition, I'd spend the money, but if your car's just a little run-around-town and have some fun in that doesn't have the greatest body or mechanics, yeah, get the cheap ...

Power Window Motor

Our window motor went out on our GS. The price of a new window motor was a bit too expensive to justify purchasing one ($130) for a vehicle that only gets driven in the summer and not often at that. The motor from the same year Protege/323 is the same, the only difference being the stub shaft that c...

Header back installation of exhaust system. Currently has a test pipe in place of the clogged catalytic converter.

Re: Intermittent misfire and tach needle jumping

Check your intake hose for any cracks that are straight through. The rubber intakes are getting even more and more brittle as time goes on and crack at the ribs. Can give the symptoms.

Do you have any codes?

An update on the difference between both distributors disassembled. http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f225/CaffeineTripp/B6-ME/Distributors/MX3%20Distributors%201_zpskmhenpm5.jpg Here is with the distributor cap and rotor removed, along with the dust cap to show the top portion of the camshaft posit...

Re: IceQueen and CaffeineTripp - 1993 MX-3 Base

Well, found a distributor online, brand new/rebuilt for 75 shipped. Not bad of a price. Now for the problem! The CPS has a different plug than the standard that came on the old distributor and the CPS is completely different as well. I'm hoping that the pin-outs on the 'new' CPS will be the same as ...

Re: IceQueen and CaffeineTripp - 1993 MX-3 Base

After unsuccessfully trying to find a CPS on eBay, Amazon, or anywhere else in the world (besides eastern Europe) I found a new distributor for $78 with shipping through an online seller. Once she arrives, we'll toss her back in and get the car on its way. Still, it would be nice to change from a di...

How long are the wires? I'll need quite a bit of length.

Re: Camshaft Position Sensor

I'm sure I could, but I think sourcing a newer ECU and having to do any other large wiring, sensor changing, etc., might be a little more than the vehicle is worth. The DD has really gone down hill. I've got a used distributor coming which is free, so I can use that until I figure something out a li...

Camshaft Position Sensor

I'm sure this has been beaten to death since it's such a common failure, but I would like to try something new. Since we bought the tan MX-3 with the B6 SOHC in it the CEL has been illuminated, and brightly at that, with the code being G-Signal. We all know this a little too well that the CPS tends ...

Finally ended up taking some video of the cat-back exhaust. Seems a pretty decent sound.

Re: Which engine oil? Tyre pressure?

For the tires I'd say what's listed on the door jamb as factory. Adjust up or down at most 2PSi depending on how rough/easy you want the ride to be, or what you'll be doing with the vehicle; track, drag, etc. Use recommended weight oil in the engine by manufacturer. Usually 5W-30. If your engine tic...

Re: IceQueen and CaffeineTripp - 1993 MX-3 Base

The exhaust has been replaced from the cat-back using stock sized piping and replacing the 1.6 muffler with the 1.8's muffler; a little better flow. The resonator was deleted, but there doesn't seem to be any noticeable drone, then again, the fiancee only drove it with terrible exhaust. I may be mak...
