Re: Fuel pump dead?

OK.... new problem that actually solved the past one...WTF! Me and my brother were messing with it once it wouldn't turn on, it just kept cranking but no start. He pulled the spark plug wire on the front left (when you are looking directly down at it) and the car turned on and still felt normal roug...

Re: Fuel pump dead?

Well it is getting worse (or seems like it) Just for the hell it here is a symptoms list: (and Dan, thanks for trying though!) - When idling at a light, the idle is rough (bounce between 700RPM and 1100RPM) - In first gear, take off is EXTREMELY rough, car jolts back and forth and fights to stay on ...

Re: Fuel pump dead?

I don't think it'll be the disty, my brother that owned the car previously had replaced it twice. I'm going to try and test the pressure here in the next day or two whenever I get time but I am actually hoping it is the fuel pump.

Re: Fuel pump dead?

Haha that'd be a great price, as long as it works. Just a question though: If my Fuel pump was going out, wouldn't it just either work or die, no in between? My car started and is working, but is SUPER hard to get started, it takes about a minute of cranking for it to actually start. Also, when I dr...

Re: Fuel pump dead?

Does anyone have a spare Sending Unit (for the gas pump gauge in the car) that they'd sell to me? I'll cover shipping of course, just need one that works is all.

Re: Fuel pump dead?

I'll probably end up doing it that way, but my dad has a fuel pressure gauge and wants to use it lol. Where would one hook up on it?

Fuel pump dead?

Ok, the other day when I came to a complete stop at a light, I took off and thought I mis-shifted because the car nearly died and would barely take off and was jolting. Once my car got up past about 2500RPM it seem smooth and fine but any lower it felt really jolty and sounded like it wanted to die....

Re: Radiator Cap issue

Well I went to the a few auto places and everyone told me they can't get it and it has to come from the dealer only. The only part they could give me was the filler cap. And I can't use the filler cap on it since it isn't the right size and doesn't look the same.

Radiator Cap issue

Does anyone know if I can use the Filler Cap for the radiator to put where the other metal cap is (that is located in front of the radiator on a plastic tube?) It keeps popping off the plastic tube or whatever it's called and letting my coolant out, I tried to see how much one was and it is $56... M...

Re: Idle surging..

UPDATE:: Got it fixed, It turned out to be severely low on coolant (but temp on gauge never went past half way so it was enough i guess) so im guessing it may of caused the idle surging while sitting still. Put a new Throttle Position Sensor in and works like new now. After a while, the car stopped ...

Re: Idle surging..

So, I actually unplugged the TPS (while car was on and surging) and there was no difference and the car kept surging. I unplugged the IAC and the car low-idled for a second or two, then died. I took the entire Throttle body out the other day and spent a few hours using Throttle Body Cleaner and clea...

Re: Idle surging..

Well I don't even know where the IAC is or how to do most of the fore mentioned stuff lol. Isn't surging only causewd by TPS failure? I was thinkin of just putting a new one in

Re: Idle surging..

Well I think the coolant issue was solved but now the car starts up just fine, but the rev is jumping while idle (doesn't do it when in gear). Is the TPS responsible for this most likely? What would be a way to figure out what is causing it?

Re: Idle surging..

Well, I just got back from going up to my car and it actually started right up.... Went to check the engine and found the metal cap next to the radiator wasn't down all the way and was spilling coolant. I don't know if it's gonna still do the fluctuating though, would a lose coolant cap be the cause...

Idle surging..

Ok, my 1992 Mazda MX-3 was at a red light today, and it started to fluctuate between 2k-3k RPM, I turned the engine off, and now it won't even turn on but just sounds like it wants to start but can't fully get there. (It's not just standard turn-over sound but sounds like it is almost going to start...
