(WTB) KLZE engine, Eastern Canada

Let me know if you have the above. I would prefer a good runner without too much mileage.

Thanks :)

Re: Engine Oil

If it doesnt do any harm, why did they make semi-synthetic compatible stuff at first. If it comes with it, use it.

My class A mechanic buddy says sythetic is better because of the additives. Why not just use an occasional additive in you regular good quality oil?

Re: Need help: Misfiring Cylinder.

If your car stalled because it was out of oil, its a very, very, very... bad thing! Usually would mean finding a new motor. If you think your motor is still viable, I would suggest starting with a compression test make sure the guts are working at least, and go from there. Luckily 1.8 are reasonably...

Re: Seriously bucking under full throttle

1 winter shouldnt wreck your wires, do resistance test on one if you havent put new ones on yet. I found a nice set in scrap yard for my GS, just took my little tester with me. I m on a budget & locals wanted $350 for a new set.

Re: engine ticking when cold

You can always put fresh oil & filter & an additive, I like engine restore, its a bit pricey but I use the 4 cyl version, (smaller can), since lots of 4 cyl are bigger than 1.8 anyways. If it has a load tock when cold it might be worth checking out your cams & gears, it could get worse a...

Re: Rusty Camshafts. Best Solution?

I d try and clean em up with something non-abrasive, maybe scrub with rag and some loosenut (I dunno is CLR good?) Wash thourougly after, even with soap and water, rinse and then put a pile of WHITE LUBE, what engine rebuilders use. If the cams look at all worn, replace, stock one should be cheap at...

Re: Crack Driver Side Mirror

Just look for another complete mirror, preferable the same color.

Maybe you can change the glass, is it worth the trouble ?

Re: Engine Oil

Bad example dude. It s sad how little improvement has been made on the internal combustion engine in the last 60 years (or 100 if you prefer). I was amazed to see the the average american fuel economy was better in 1971 than in 2001. Watch the documentary, Who killed the electiric car, if you ever g...

Re: bad idle when defogger on

A good battery usually helps, make sure you alt is giving full juice ( I ve had alts giving 1/2 juice but not on my mazdas)

If that doesnt work maybe your RW def is drawing too much current, but that would be rare.

Re: KLZE FINALLY!!

It was my local Mazda mechanic that told me 1.8 was interference, hes been working at Mazda for 10 years, sorry I believed him :(

I m not always right but my advice is usually not bad, sry if I offended people. I m only on MX 3 for fun and to learn.

Re: Seriously bucking under full throttle

I keep answering... We are running out of advice. I m wondering about fluids, it sounds like a longshot, hows your antifreeze & oil ? going down ? any foam in oil (like on cap?) Pop # 1 plug and put a new one, drive her for a while. let us know. You mentioned you forgot to check your plugs, mayb...

Re: MX3 GS Burning Oil Really Bad Where Do I Start?

A good engine shop can put it together better than you, they have the equipment & experience. What you pay to have it assembled will usually pale in comparison to what you spend on parts & machining. Comparing shops (check out how pro there equipement is) and what kind of prices they offer f...
