Re: GS overheats but only at idle
Still haven't had time to test the fan directly, but have not had any overheating problems. Two questions though. Since I have owned the car, when it reaches operating temperature, the needle is slightly above halfway, is that because the fan isn't working? Also, I seem to have more power when the e...

Re: GS overheats but only at idle
Ok sounds like time to test the fan directly. Should be fun, it's in a cramped space. Thanks guys! Question about jumping TEN and GND, it says in the manual to do this and then open the throttle slightly THEN turn the ignition switch on. I've been turning the ignition on first then opening the throt...

Re: GS overheats but only at idle
rad fan was disconnected. I reconnected it, jumpered TEN and GND, no fan movement. tried driving it, let it warm up, still no fan. It wasn't overheating today and it's a scorcher out there, about 28C. Not sure whats up, the fan doesn't seem to be moving, but its not having problems now.

Re: GS overheats but only at idle
Hey guys, thanks for all your replies. I checked it out, I was mistaken about the residue near rad cap by the way. I jumpered TEN and GND, and turned the key to the 2nd accy setting (power windows work, inside fans blow) and manually turned the throttle, no fan :( There are 2 fans actually. the one ...

GS overheats but only at idle
Hi, Yesterday while waiting at a light I noticed my temp gauge was starting to rise ( about 3/4 up from cold). Once the light changed and I started driving it went back down to normal. It happened again at the next stop, and went back down while driving. It was about 26 C out in full sunlight, this ...

Re: SLOW REAR DEFROST
Mine's a little slow. If I brush off all snow and let it melt minor ice buildup it's about 10 minutes before any useful visibility (off a cold start). One of the lines is broken though, not sure if that would reduce effectiveness of the rest.

Re: Help with poor fuel economy, and CEL codes 16, 17
Quick question, Rockauto lists two different 1.8L mx3 on their site. Under MX3 they show V6 FI, under MX3 GS they show v6 MFI. I thought all mx3 v6's were the GS trim. MFI is multiport fuel injection right? Or Mechanical? Anyway should it matter or should I go with the GS section, keeping in mind th...

Rockauto lists the front (# 234414 ) $10 cheaper. I'm considering getting the universal for $60, oxygensensors.com has universals for front and back. I don't mind some solder work. I should probably inspect mine first though, since I'm re-using my connector.

Mine was $1700 plus safety came to about $4200. '93 GS 135K. Had cracked windshield, shot struts in the back, could only start in neutral, some suspension work, etc.

I forgot to say what car it was. Updated original post.
For those Denso parts, they show Front, and Front Left, and Rear. What does that mean?

Re: Help with poor fuel economy, and CEL codes 16, 17
Thanks for the nfo about no EGR on my engine. For the o2 sensor they have some ranging $57 for BOSCH Part # 15733 universal, up to $150 for ac delco. Also, I'm confused about upstream, downstream, towards radiator, in exhaust manifold. Should I just get 1 upstream and 1 downstream sensor? Total for ...

*update* I forgot to post what car this is for. 1993 MX-3 GS Hi all. Hoping to get some advice about my car. Since purchase I've noticed it's hard on gas, especially after replacing the engine with another K8. Very occasionally it also feels like I'm not getting any power. Here is a brief history of...

Re: Hello! New member from London
Thanks all for the welcome. (I found it funny that I got many more replies after posting hot nudes of my car!) So I tried that trick, shorting TEN and GND on the diagnostic box. I got a 16 and a 17. From David Coleman's handy post that quoted "Mike P's site" it looks like: 16 Exhaust gas r...
