Re: Wow this forum has really died down lately...
It was mitmaks and I just banning spammers for a while there. I talked to Jeff and I think he has closed off site registration, or at least moved it to admin approval. There were a few sleeper bots, but it's been quiet since.

Re: MT oil?
There are recommended replacement intervals. I generally change mine based on colour.
Sid is right about the sulfur killing sychros. Oils that claim to be GL4/5 are no good, basically. If I were you I'd use ATF if you live in a very cold climate, otherwise Redline MT-90.

Re: I need opinions from old friends
Sorry!
I got it sorted. It all worked out in the end! I spliced the harnesses, but maintained the old one, so this silly swap is reversible!

I need opinions from old friends
People. I sold/scrapped all my MX-3's, but you are by far the best online car community I know. I need a soundboard of technical people. I got myself into a nightmare swap with Subarus. I am putting an EJ20K from a GC8 JDM STI (2.0 turbo, 280hp) into a USDM SG Forester X (2.5L NA, 160hp). Mechancial...

Gentlemen,
I need the MX6 intermediate shaft with the larger transmission side spline. Don't care if it has the 2 or 3 bolt flange.
Shipped to R3N 1H6 Winnipeg, MB
Thank you kindly.

Re: [GI] Partout of Ryan's MX
Hi all, Its been a year since I posted this? Wow. Whoops. I've posted a Kijiji add in case I could sell some stuff local. Winnipeg isnt a big MX-3 enthusiast city, though. http://www.kijiji.ca/v-view-details.html?requestSource=b&adId=1085185395 Thats the stuff I have ready to go. I'll be PM'ing ...

Re: Ryan's Final Build
Hey man, thanks for the input. In order to have a clogged cat, like you guessed, I'd have to be running a cat. In order for the EGR pint to be dislodged, I'd have to have the EGR installed. We don't have emissions testing in my neck of the woods. Aside from that, I've parted the car out. Engine is s...

Re: Ryan's Final Build
It hasn't happened since it warmed up a bit. Also, I replace the O2 sensors for once, and it makes a pretty big difference in drivability (I suspect more so than usual because of the patchwork of components). Also, I'm down to a record low of 3 codes! Just the EGR ones. BMW is coming out next weeken...

[WTB] Megastim or Jimstim
I have an MS2 I built but never tested or used. DIYAutotune wants $30 to ship a $45 stim, which led me to remember that you folks often have lots of neat things laying around that you'd be happy to sell.

Re: Ryan's Final Build
The car has developed an odd problem. Every few weeks or so it will have a fit. It will be fine until you go out to start it one morning, and it will idle fine for about 2 minutes, and then start lopeing and die without any throttle input (makes stoplights a problem). There is a VERY narrow band of ...

The sensor has no polarity. Its just a switch. Doesn't matter which way the wires go in to it.

Re: Where did everybody go??
This is still my favourite forum. There are several good guys on here, whereas most other forums are full of idiots. And if there is one thing I can't stand, its idiots. If I ever manage to cope properly with a 9-5, I may start building my BMW and posting it here... if no one minds. (teaser: http://...

Re: Ryan's Final Build
I murdered my grey (winter, shitty, rusty, ugly) car the other night. Drove it top of second gear through the ditch. Fun as balls. But coming back down the gravel road to my bro's house, the RPM started falling all by themselves... and it started sounding horrible. Slowed down to head down the drive...
