Trouble getting into reverse?

Heya...

Sometimes I have trouble putting the car into reverse. It's like the gear stick lever doesn't feel like it's in quite the right place - no solid thunking feeling as it slides into gear, you know? When this happens, I have to let out the clutch, push it back in, and then try the putting it ...

Hmm, where do you go to get your parts?
As I mentioned before, I've tried Repco for the ignition leads and fuel filter, and they said they'd have to order them, and charge me $280 and $130 respectively. So the parts don't sound very common and inexpensive...

Well that puts my mind at ease somewhat.

A PITA rear valve cover gasket still sounds a lot better than blown piston rings! :D

Piston rings or valve gasket??

Heya,

I did a bit of service on my '91 Presso today, which included replacing the spark plugs. When i took them out, they were coated in oil - which caused me some alarm. I don't don't know *alot* about engines, but I know that's probably a really bad thing!

The oil was on the top end of the ...

I got Pioneer ones.
I'm not sure you guys get those in North America (or maybe you do, and they're crap :P ) but over here they're considered pretty good quality, and not too expensive.

I got a set of Components for the front, and 3-way 6x9s for the back. They're both from their range which is one ...

Thanks for your suggestions, everyone!
I have had a play with the EQ, and found a setting that wasn't too hideous, that I could live with, but the music still sounded quite thin to me.

I went back to the stereo store and listened to about a million speakers - the installer is going to upgrade my ...

Ok!
After two hours of careful listening and dissection with a friend, I have identified my problems and can provide a better description about what I don't like about my speaker setup.

1) The high range is too sharp. What I mean is, when the vocalist sings S's T's and D's it sounds really sharp ...

Thank you for all the info and suggestions!

I'm going to go in and talk to the manager on Tuesday, and I'm prepared for the probability that I'll have to get a sub and amp.
So just one more newbie question:
If I want the amp to drive my fronts and the sub, then do I need a two or three channel amp ...

I've tried having a play with all the settings on the headunit, and the best sound seems to come from the 'Xplod' EQ setting, which I had been led to believe was the heavy bass setting? Any of the other preset EQ setting just sound totally thin and tinny.
I can manually set the EQ, but I haven't ...

Heh, I had tried to look at the team eunos site many times a few weeks ago, but the forums were constantly down, so I gave up on them.

Thanks for the advice.

Have I been screwed?

I recently had a new head unit and speakers installed professionally, and to be honest, I'm not really very happy with the sound - especially not for what I paid. I don't know much about car stereos, so I think the salesman may have just tried to brush me off.

I selected a pretty good Sony CD head ...

I had this same problem recently.
The problem was the piece of hose that runs between the engine and the air filter box. It's like a corrugated 3" hose, and the rubber had perished between the corrugations, so there were splits where the air was leaking. I replaced this, and it's been working great ...
