Rear Hatch Garnish

I need a rear hatch garnish for a 1993 mx-3, preferably black. I believe there are several years that will fit. If you have one let me know by PM.

Basic Strut Questions

I have a 93 rs. The previous owner apparently installed, or tried to install, new rear shock absorbers. After inspection on a rack, the rear shocks are seen to be surrounded by loose coil springs, the springs only being held in place (as in place as they get) by the weight of the car. After they are ...

Shock absorbers

I have a 1993 mx-3, 4 cyl. ,manual trans. The car is a daily driver in more or less normal use. I need rear shocks - front seem to be ok. I don't want to feel like I am driving on a washboard, but neither do I want the car to feel mushy, so I am looking for a shock that will give some comfort to the ...

Both of above are good advice. I had a similar problem once which turned out to be the MAF sensor.

Your idle problem might be the idle air control valve. Any kind of electrical or engine load can cause the idle to drop and the iac valve is supposed to prevent that from getting out of hand. Some variation depending on electrical and engine load is normal, but probably should not exceed 1-200 rpms ...

I can't explain that. I would not think you would have any circulation through the heater if the thermostat is closed.

Thermostat is easy enough to check. The upper radiator hose should be very hot if the thermostat is opening. Start it up and just stand there with your hand on that hose and see if it heats up. I suppose your thermostat could open and the hose get hot and you could still have a bad water pump, in ...

Cleaning IAC valve

Greetings:

I recently purchased a 1993 MX-3, SOHC 4 cyl., so am a newby to the car and to this forum. The car has an idle problem probably stemming from the iac valve. Upon cold start, the engine revs up to about 1500 rpms and gradually drops down to about 600 - a little low but that can be ...

I don't know what you mean by "set." The iac valve has no settings and operates automatically. I would like to remove mine for cleaning, if it can be cleaned, but I can't figure how to take it off. I see one screw and nothing else holding it on, if I am looking at the right part (black plastic part ...
