I've heard about remote turbos and the idea does sound great.
I remember reading about this on on Passion Ford which sparked my interest.
The guy stuck a 3 litre V6 Vauxhall (General Motors) engine into a Ford Ka and then the turbo in the trunk. Not sure if the project was ever finished though ...

Re: Weird noise
When was the last time the cam belt and tensioner were replaced?
Could be a bit of belt slap due to the tensioner being faulty. Normally shuts up though once warm as the oil in the tensioner expands with the heat and sorts it self out. Only other thing I can think of with a similar noise. There's ...

Re: de cat k8 post 1992 true or false
It's more to do with the law of the land than anything else.
In the UK, if your car was registered in 1992 onwards, it HAS to have a CAT fitted to pass emissions on the MOT.
If you're pre 1992, so that'll be J and early K registration cars, you can remove it without the Fuzz or VOSA stitching you ...

Yeah.
The engine was designed at Porsche, the seats by Recaro, and the rims by Enkei. They weren't screwing around. However, it didn'y get the popularity it deserved.
I knew the engine, or block more specifically was developed by Porsche, but I didn't know the seats were designed by Recaro good ...

I'm no where near an expert in this field and there have been some very informative and helpful answers here.
What about these though:

I'm interested too,
One thing I hate about racing seats are the brackets that are 'meant' to be used with them sit too high. And in our cars that would be a nightmare!

That looks insane! It'll polish out though!!
Soz that's the wrong side of the road to be UK.
Looks either German or Dutch to me due to the plate format.
Can sort of just make out a D in the blue banner on the plate, Deusland = Germany.

Re: fuel warning light?
If you were to fit one, you'd need the low level sensor in the tank and associated wiring, and a new cluster. The low level light doesn't work from the guage reading there is a little sensor attached to the sender in the tank.
that's what is involved...
I'm finding it very interesting there is ...

Re: fuel warning light?
Hi All,
In answer to edger above. The guage stops reading due to the sender being knackerd. It is basicly a coil of high resistance wire with a slider attached to a float. Similar to a scalextric throttle gun. The float sits ontop of the gas and as the level changes the slider moves along the coil ...

Re: fuel warning light?
Hi All,
European versions don't have the low fuel warning light. Don't know why that's just how it is!

What about these:
http://www.sickhids.com/apps/webstore/products/show/653006" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Set of clear headlight lenses for the MX-3 (option 2)
Might try them on my stock lights. No sure how it would affect the beam pattern though.
Ideal for projectors though!

This happened to me while trying to fix my sub, managed to slice a hole in it
Anyways!
I used a 2 pack epoxy resin (resin + hardener) Normally found at your local DIY store, Araldite or similar.
