Location of fuel tank drain plug?
Hi guys - my car is driving like a pig - i'm thinking it's because of dirty fuel. my tank is about three-quarters full. i've tried to syphon out the petrol with a proper syphon tube but don't seem to be able to submerge the end valve in the petrol. i then inserted a length of hose pipe and tried to ...

not sure if this will help, but a couple of years ago my car would dip in revs at traffic lights. it was probably more acute when i pressed the accelerator. It turned out that the bottom of the fuel tank was clogged up. i got it cleared out and got the fuel pipes cleaned. Maybe just something to wat...

Distributor change and HEI mod
Guys - Continuing from my earlier thread...I'm still in the position with my car not starting. So...my distributor is a K834 (TOT57171, I think). My car is a '95 UK V6. I'm trying to source a suitable HEI module - only 1 car spares place I've phoned has heard of Niehoff or Wells and they don't stock...

BADMX3 - just out of interest, where did you get the new engine? is it an exact replacement of your current engine - is your car a UK model? would you care to tell us how much you paid for it? just bought a used distributor from a breaker's yard...fingers crossed it works. if not, i may try t...

In the UK, I think it would be illegal to have any other colour than amber as your indicator. As far as I'm aware, all bulbs on a car are clear and it's the colour of the plastic casing which determines the visible colour of the light. Actually: I found the info below on the MOT site (for non-UK for...

I'm a non-expert... I had my water pump replaced last year. the part wasn't too expensive (maybe £50-60? UK), and it's not a particularly difficult task, but it's about a 4-hour job because the water pump is at the bottom of the engine. So you end up paying for the labo(u)r. Oh, and if you get it re...

sorry, just rechecked the FAQ If my coil AND module are broken, then I have the option of fitting the HEI module and the external coil. I'm really not sure of which parts I would use - are there basic specifications/tolerances,etc that I should look out for in a replacement module and coil? My other...

I have the car at home now. i really didn't trust this particular dealer. I was suspicious that they'd ruined the module, too. I actually met the mechanic who worked on it - he was mystified. he'd tried unwiring the immobiliser, but it made no difference. apparently only 3 of the spark plugs were ge...

ok - mazda dealer just phoned me back. he is now saying it is definitely the ignition module. he says the spark plugs are now receiving the charge at the same time and this has fried the module. last friday, he said that this was not the case and that the plugs were receiving the charge individually...

sorry, man - what i meant to say also is: i wrote everything i knew in the posts, when i knew them. while the original mechanic had checked the spark plugs and given them the ok, the dealer took it a step further and checked that each plug was getting the charge in turn. the dealer said it's a commo...

from my 1st post, i'd said that my original mechanic found no problem with the spark plugs or starter (now, i'm not sure whether he tested one spark plug, or whether he checked that each plug was getting the charge in order) also from my 1st post, the mazda dealer, over the phone, was convinced it w...
