key hole light

i realized the key hole light is always on regardless even at night when parked ... any suggestions ?

I have the same problem on my '93 GS.... would like to get to the bottom of it as well.. :(

I've had it out before, I believe that it's you normal dash light attached to the back of a clear plastic ring that acts kind of like fiberoptics. As for the problem of it never turning off that the others were having from years ago I would assume that if the dash light and main light go off when the doors shut whatever times the light must be at fault.

Nope, light remains on even though the doors are closed and locked

Ignore the clear plastic ring description, I realized this morning when I got in my car that I got my rav4 and mx3 mixed up. As for the timer thing what I meant was that because your dome light is working correctly that it might make sense that theirs either a timer or a relay that is not functioning correctly. I don't have a wiring diagram so it's just a shot in the dark.

I asked someone to look up the ignition light bulb number but they couldn't find anything, maybe it is an led. Its been since my last mx3 that I've had an mx3 column apart.
