Use the Search option here, just some times you need to vary your wording to get results. Also a lot of good info is in our FAQ section. viewtopic.php?f=36&t=65960 Cheers.

I know you believe that you understand what you think I said but I'm sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Not 100% sure on this, but I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to figure out. I'm using a 93 escort manual rack in my 95 escort GT. I know a bunch of parts are interchangeable between the 2, but I'm sure some research would figure it out. Or measure the 2 racks where they bolt down and compare that to an early 90's escort (as they came with a factory manual rack). Good luck with the swap.

BTW it's not much fun in parking lots without power steering. But totally worth it. :welder:

The 323 manual rack is a popular swap, but swapping racks apparently isn't easy. Most de-power the regular rack but you need to loop the lines to keep fluid in the system.

323 rack is super easy! The hardest part is getting your hands on a manual rack from a BG 323! You use that and then inner and outer tie rods from the mx-3 and your golden. I wouldn't change mine back.

I hated the manual 323 rack. Far to slow lock to lock ratio.

The mx3 gs rack has the best ratio.

I get that people like the idea of freeing up horse power but deleting accessories but I didn't notice any power loss converting from manual steering to power steering.

I ran a manual 323 rack, then a depowered 4 cylinder mx3 rack and then finally said screw it and went back to power steering and an mx3 gs rack.

I think mainly to make it one less thing that can go wrong. But I'm with you, power steering doesn't draw much power from the engine and makes life much easier!

Keep your rack ratio, click the link... You'll be glad you did. The space freed up in the engine bay was worth it all alone, before the reduced parasitic drag and the ability to turn the wheel without running the engine.

Best decision that I ever made with this car, mod-wise.
