Does anyone know anyone's brothers cousins wife that knows an eskimo that can find a guy who knows what I'm talking about when I say I need a g series that goes on a bp? Any info on this topic would be very much appreciated!

What exactly are you asking? Where to find one? What cars have them?

I seem to be having a very hard time finding one. People only seem to know about the v6 transmission and have never even heard of a bp engine. I would like to know where to get the tranny that goes with the bp and possibly get some clarification on the difference between the I4 g series and the v6 g series because these guys are making me feel like I know all the wrong information. Thanks!

You want the trans from a '90-'94 Protege LX. I'm also in NC and havea lot of experience with the BP setups if you need anything.

Awesome :) what part of NC? My brother is in Statesville. And I'm sure he would love some veterans help!

Yep...those as well, but they are not as easy to find. There are usually a few Proteges in the local salvage yards to pick from.

I'm in Thomasville....about 20 minutes south of Greensboro. I've got 3 BP FWD Mazdas...a Protege, a BP swapped MX-3, and a BP swapped 323.

Cool. That's about an hour away from where the car will be worked on. I found a few junkyards with the tranny's that he needs. I'm sure he will find one suitable for his required application. Thank you everyone for clarifying for me!

It's important to get the trans from a Pro LX with the DOHC. The SOHC has the f series.

The Kia Sephia also came with the BP and had an improved G series trans in it that you should try to pick up if possible.

Check out clubprotege.com, the BP info here is fairly spotty but much more solid over there.
