starting issues

Post by dang24 »

Hi,

Been having starting problems, the engine turns but there seems to be no ignition until you give it a little throttle then it'll turn over and then idle quite high about 1500 rpm till the engine gets warm then its fine, although it still won't start normally but quicker.

I read that if the mx3's are run out of fuel it messes the fuel injectors up, and this is what the car garage did before I bought it.

I'm yet to change the fuel filter but wondered if this has happened before or is there a way of resetting the ecu etc?

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks.

To 'clear' the ECU simply remove the + from the battery and hold the brake pedal down for 15 sec's or so. Have you checked the TPS, it could be way out of adjustment and could effect starting.

I know you believe that you understand what you think I said but I'm sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.
