Printer problem

I have HP officeJet 8600 plus. Its been working fine and then it started giving me "general error" and basically I figured out that once I install yellow cartridge it gives me this malfunction. It recognizes all other cartridges but yellow. I tried different yellow cartridge (factory HP) and it still gives me general error/ink system error.
Called HP and they were less than helpful, some lady with broken English tried to sell me another HP printer "cause HP printers are repetitively tested and are great product" bs story.
I wonder if its problem with printhead but replacing it is like another $60+. I already have CISS system for it and HP cartridges that cost me additional $40.

I don't know about your HP, but my printer, when one cartridge runs out, you have to replace them all. But I buy the cheapy printers where its just cheaper to buy a new printer than it is the cartridges for it.

I haven't even used this printer much, maybe 10 pages total since I've owned it 1+ years.

Have you tried re-installing the software and drivers?

No, I dont think its software issue. Printer itself is having issues, not when I try to print from computer.

It was bad printhead, changed to another printhead and printer works great.
