Thinking of purchasing a Fidanza flywheel and was hoping for some honest reviews and opinions from those using one.
I'm currently running the lighter mx3 flywheel on my ZE so would it be beneficial to go lighter?
I do not drag race, but love to "bang through the gears" on the street and hardly ever drive in slow traffic.
What does it feel like driving our cars with a lighter flywheel compared to stock?

Motor will spin up even faster. Noticeable difference.

You could shave your stock one and save quite a bit of weight that way.

It's very worth well mod... fidanza is also a much better brand to go with over other brands... fidanza is the only company that makes the friction surface replaceable by bolting it on...

I have run fidanza flywheels now on both my 323 gtx and my klg4 swapped 323.... well worth the money

I wen't from, stock mx-3 to chromoly.


Stock was: 16,5 Lbs

Chromoly is: 12 Lbs

Fidanza: 9 Lbs


I tried the chromoly first, cause it was like only $100, but i don't think u can get them anymore.


I like it very much, was concerned about a rough idle but there nu difference.

Next time i get in there i will bolt up a fidanza.

Revs up faster, and down as well.

You'll notice the same difference in acceleration as you would by dropping 5-6 pounds in wheel weight.

You also have the Aasco flywheels with a replacable friction surface.

I use a 3" thick concrete flywheel with a lead outer ring. Only takes maybe 7-8 mins to get above 4500rpm but once I get that sucker spinning man oh man nothing stops me. Pure Portland cement, accept no substitute.

It's been a while but the last clutch masters one I saw had the friction surface riveted in place.. have they changed their design?

You can't shave off much off the factory flywheel, getting it down to 12-13lbs has it's at the point where it'll risk cracking, historically speaking anyway.

^^ Very True. Guys used to shave them a lot back in the day and they did crack.

The Faianza is the best IMO, I have used them on 3 different vehicles and have loved and seen noticeable increases on all of them. Keep in mind you generally will lose some low end Tq but make it up in the top end HP.. On my BP build I had it balanced with the rotating assembly, and they actually shaved several grams out of the flywheel.
