Fuel tank question.

Replacing the fuel tank on 96 v6. There is some sort of vent with a one way chuck valve. It's attached to the fuel tank . Do we need this? What is it? It hooks up to a larger tube by the filler arm, one of the tubes plugs into the controle arm. May sound like a stupid question and I'm sorry. It's got me baffled.

I suggest you refer to the on-line manuals we have here. http://www.mx-3.com/manuals/index.php

Of course we need it, unless you feel like you're smarter than engineers that have designed it-feel free to remove it, let us know what happens.

We took out the chuck valve in question and put the tank back in, looping the two ports together, tank went back in and car started fine. At the moment I will say I feel smarter then the engineers. I'll let you know if I still think that after I drive it home. Lol thanks for the links to workshop manuals. They have been bookmarked. Also did the rear break lines while I was under there.

hmm I believe that check valve is for vapors... The pump handle may not stop while filling either.

But while we are on the subject of "fuel tank question" Anyone ever try and fit an MX6 tank in an MX3?
