I'd like to bump this for you because I was wondering the same thing about the shifter knob. I have a pull a part near me but I was wondering if anyone has tried to swap thier shifter knob with one from another car.

Oh, and btw. As of a couple years ago you could still buy the latch piece from mazda. Crazy expensive like the rest of stuff though. I think they wanted 30 bucks for it or so...

Hey I'll take a look thanks man. As for the shift knobs, anything from mazda(and a couple other manufacturers like mitsu) should thread on perfectly. Personally, I want the knob from the 93 SE MX-3 because its OEM and would fit nicely. At this point it seems kind of like a pipe dream though because I'm not sure anyone has a mint looking one.

the thing with the OEM leather stuff is that anyone on the forums knows that they're valuable and they've changed hands to the point that the poeple who have them will not let them go. The only nice leather stuff that ever pops up anymore is when someone on the forum stumbles on a nice SE that was owned by a regular loser who didn't know what they had and took nice care of it.

A guy could probably make a profit scouring the country for SE's and reselling the leather bits.

Yeah there is supposedly a GSSE in a junkyard 2 hrs away with missing leather seat so I was gonna head up there this weekend and scavange, Prolly gonna grab the back hatch, console, shifter knob, steering wheel if its in good shape, and hatch cover too. I would really love to find some good condition stock mx-3 floor mats too. My RS had them but not my GS :?

Yeah I think you're right on point. I've been looking at aftermarket stuff but its not the same. I'd love the seats out of a SE as well...
