How's your oil? IF you're close to oil change time change it nad toss in some lucas oil stabilizer. If you just changed the oil when you did the swap, did you put the right oil in?

I was dumb and put in 5w20 without paying attention which caused me to have maaad ticking till I changed it out.

Ticking could be your lifters, check where exactly the ticking is coming from. If it's from the passengers side rear of the engine it's probably your timing belt tensioner allowing the belt to slap. You can put a long screw driver to the engine with the plastc end to your ear and further identify where it may be coming from. Of course if it's across the entire top of the engine then ignore this post.

The first number for oil "weight" is viscosity at 0C the second number viscosity at 100C. I believe the manual specifies 10W30. If the oil you're using has 30 at the end it is Ok.

Mine had a rattle for a few days then I drove up a hill and the engine died silently.

Hydraulic tensioner gave way and made a mess of the belt.

Does the noise come and go?

My tensioner would only make noise at idle and to 2500 rpms...then it would go away.

You may also have a exhaust leak....If it was small..you would only hear it under load.

Yes, I heard it at idle mostly in the morning when starting. But it didn't do this for long before it ate the belt!
