Hy, sorry if i posted in the wrong place.
I have a problem, i am going to change the brakes, and i want to change alsow the brake fluid. I dont know what kiind to pot in it and how much i need. On the cap of the tank, write's "use only DOT 3".
I know that DOT 4 is better then DOT3, but i am woried about not damageing the brake system. Can dot4 eat my brake lines and things like that? I don't know what kiind of brake fluid is inside right now.
What do you recomend? Thank you.
Sorry for my bad english :)

I personally use DOT 3, but DOT 4 should be alright as well. To be on the safe side just do a brake flush. that way it's all new fluid :2thumbsup:

Dot 3 is fine . But if u barke hard and do track racing dot 4 has a higher boiling point so it can handle the brake fluid temp increase

I heard that if i use DOT 4 the brake pump and everithing will start to leak, and eat the lines. Because the brake is desing for DOT3.
Do you know how much liquid i have to use for a complet change? And someone changed with DOT4, what hapend, but only the brake fluid not even the brake lines?
Thank you for the help. :)

You can safely go to DOT4, you don't want DOT5 which will destroy your brake system.

Any brake fluid will mess up lines and make them leak due to the lack of fluid replacement every two years cooper builds up in the lines and reduces boiling point of the fluid also never strech the lines always use wire to hold caliper .
