Does any one know where to get a chip for a k8 ecu for a klze swap
Or if a 93 mx6 kl01 ecu would fit my 92 mx3 because i think i can get a chip for the kl01 but i cannot find a k8 chip
Oor are the chips the same as long as they are for a klze engine?

Post this in the [WTB] section, you may get more action. Then rename this post to some thing like, Will a 93 mx6 kl01 ecu would fit my 92. All this information is available if you just use the Search feature or Google this question.

The chip isn't really specific to the ECU number as it is to the ECU revision. The Probinator and the Stroker100 chips are installable in a K8 and KL ECU, what you need to make sure is if the circuit board is capable of accepting a chip. Like the ECU for the early 92 K8 has a different circuit board and doesn't take a chip.

Each chip was programmed by the maker. They would make it to suit your car, intake manifold/VRIS and I know Probinator had custom, more aggressive fuel maps over the KL31/36 ECU.

For ECU's, the KLZE KL31 and KL36 use the stock K8 JE50 VAF. If you use a KLDE ECU, you need to use a KLDE VAF.

So would a klo1 ecu not run without the proper vaf?

*Not run properly, the ECU is designed for a certain VAF, otherwise the A/F will be off. You can cheat and use a KL02 VAF on a K8 ECU, that worked OK, but not ideal.

KLDE ECU + KLDE VAF
KLZE ECU + K8 VAF

That would explain why when i put my klde ecu in it wouldn't run. Sweet thank you very much
