Have you ever lifted a K8/KL block with the crank removed...? It weighs barely more than crank does by itself... Which is DEFINITELY steel, no doubting that one at all.
I know there's copper in there, possibly they used steel in places to reinforce it? The exterior is definitely aluminum, but I'll mess around with a magnet on my open DE short block and report back. If I forget, I'll do it the next time I see this thread... I rarely touch this section, so it may be while.

I screwed up my oem ones trying to put a light coat of vht on them but the paint cracked...
I will probably end up going with the black projectors, the thought of retrofitting projectors into the oem housing crossed my mind too

It would be nice, I was thinking about doing the same but where would you get clear lenses.

The car will need the following to be running again) Injectors, Throttle body & Standalone. They were removed for other projects. The engine currently has the head removed but they are freshly rebuilt with all new lifters. This car had over 60K spent on it back in the day. There is no rust and not even a trace of it. You won't find another one like this anywhere ever!
