Please help, confused....

Post by tdf75 »

I have a 92 mx-3 with the 1.6 sohc, It had a overheating problem along with a bad water pump, I changed the pump, ran the car and it still overheated and also as soon as you start it when cold and with the radiator cap off it will blow coolant like there was air in the system, I changed the head gasket and still get the same problem, as soon as you start it it bubbles like crazy in my overflow tank, and will gush out of the top of the radiator, could this be a cracked head possibly, any help would be greatly appreciated. I have changed the thermostat also.

Sounds like a head gasket so if you already changed it a crak in the head or block is certainly plausible.

Do a leakdown test. If you get leakage through the rad you will know.

Should always get your head checked for true and cracks. Worth the money IMO. Good news is it's not a V6. :D
