Painted valve covers.

So, I know a few of you have painted/powdercoated your valve covers. I've seen relatively few pictures.
I'm wondering if any of you have done anything "different" with them?
I saw a miata BP with oriental-style flowers on it in another forum.

I'm currently painting my smaller peices and looking for ideas to build upon. I've only just started but I figure I'll be going flat red/flat black since the exterior will eventually be that color. (Going Flat black with off-center flat red stripe(s))
I'm thinking about somehow using the grooves on the BP valve cover to create something. I dunno, I have no real ideas yet. I was thinking about doing the intake in black, the valve cover in red with black accents and the exhaust with black heat wrap... Then most of the smaller peices in flat black cause it's cheap. Red plug wires, distributor cap, redtop battery, air intake/airbox... Ooh and I think I might have a guy who can do plug covers (probably do mine black).

TL:DR Post your amazing valve cover pain jobs! V6 guys too!

Mine were powdercoated blue with metal flake to go with the polished IM.

Pictures never did them justice, either looked too subtle, or like 60's cookware, lol

Mine was powder coated that "Hydro Dipped" with the Reaper pattern!

This isn't a good picture of it installed but it's on the motor

I watched a tonne of those hydro dipping tutorials but the places that have the material are limited in designs.
But I thought about maybe a plaid interior peices hydro dipped.

I currently have both the Ford and Mazda valve covers, but I was thinking about finding the Kia and painting it pink.
Figured it'd be fun for doing a couple runs at the track and then bust out my pretty pink Kia engine. Team Selena Gomez!

I used some metal flake paint, from duplicolor. Cleaned it real good, sprayed some primer down, then a shiny silvery base coat, then the blue.

Primer:

Silver coat (on the intake mani, but did same on valve cover)

Sorta finished product:

Rattle Cans!

That's what i used + hi temp primer. Drop cloths and tape is why there wasn't any overspray.

Here's where mine stands right now. I should have done the intake while I had the engine out...
