B&M shortshifter adjustable?

Post by WhiteFinish »

Hi Guys,

For those who are running the B&M shortshifter (or the ones who know this stuff). Is it possible to make the gab between the gears larger ?

I know the whole point of a shortshifter is to reduce the distance between gears, but the B&M is ultra short at the moment.
Just another Mx3 freak :)

B&M only reduces it by 42%... good thing you don't have my car as I'm running a pacesetter and reduced it by almost 80% :o

Anyways, unless there is a way to move the "ball" up or down, then no you will not be able to change it (I owned a B&M and I don't believe there is a way). My recommendation would be to get a stock one to swap back in...

It's great, I love having one. I've adjusted the throw probably 5 times, and I finally got it to where I like it(~70% reduced)

I've got a BandM and I like it but if I can get the gears even closer i'll be a happy camper.

30 min, including the time to jack up the car and support it with jackstands.
maybe an hour if your drunk and doing it with one hand, i'd recommend not jacking up a car and going under it while drunk though, your choice.

30 minutes is a good estimate, I was a complete idiot and may as well have been drunk and it took me about an hour of actual labor(had difficulty making it fit) plus another hour or so of head scratching.
